Provided by YP.comIt's going to be a bit hard to review the school, but I'll try, first of all the only piece of security in the entire school is one police officer. I know it sounds fine but he is a rookie in training. Also, the teachers, they threat the kids to check the camera if there is a problem, but uh, there's just one problem THEY KEEP THE LENS ON The kids aren't as stupid and gullible as you think. The teachers, they obviously did not become licensed teachers. I have reason to believe the teachers here are not actual college graduates. Tell me, what kind of teachers don't know what the word " Counterfeit" means , yeah, there's that. When I went here, they didn't know and now my brother is asking what these words mean and they don't know. And the food is TERRIBLE! I can't even tell you how many times i got sick because of the food , and the cafeteria workers, are the worst, this one guy who works here, he wasn't there when I went there, has been swearing at my brother, who is in third grade, I am ready to smack this guy,
Ms August, a lunch lady, grips the kids up, which is illegal, and says " I'm telling the principal" she smacked me in the neck once, the principal is ignorant and has no idea how to run the school. The nurse, oh, the nurse , if you get into a fight, or get hurt, she will give you a ice pack....HOW IS THAT GONNA HELP? She doesn't care about the safety of the kids, and is just looking for a paycheck, like every other teacher here. The school is in poor condition, and seriously needs to be repaired, dog feces in the grass by the school, and the janitor, where the hell are you? and the school is also sexist, clearly preferring girls, as they get defended for everything. Also, the school is mainly black, so bullying will be towards white kids. THE worst thing is the BULLYING! The teachers, the lunch ladies, even the principal, are clearly scared of the black parents, saying they don't care about bullying, they tell the kids to man up, I'm bleeding, and I get punished for getting jumped, after I get a ice pack of course. I went to the school from K to 5, so 2006- 2012 I think. Well, hopefully , I made my point. Don't go to this school, IT'S FOR YOUR CHILD'S SAFETY!

Provided by YP.comThis has been the most horrifying disappointing experience!!!!!. No stars for staff instruction leadership or anything else. Not only are the children bullys, but as we know they must learn it from somewhere. They learn it from the staff. Kids coming home stressing about "punishment"? This on the last day of school. Look teacher staff and all dont bring your f...up lige into ghe school. I dislike everything about this place! They nedd a complete overhaul from the 2nd grade teacher Boransky to the principal. You call yourselves teachers shame on you all. If writing things like this helps clean this place up then theres hope.

Provided by YPmobileI have formally worked at the Richmond Elementary school
l My very sick, disabled Son,
graduated from their
elementary school in the
gifted status. I attended Catholic school my whole
life..until CollegeRichmon
is.
a imperfectly uncrowded and
top of the line Elementary
schools in this 19134 zip
Im code. Personally I don't know
what that status is up against
parochial schools, any
Redder b
But I have had experience with the charter schools..wow
can they lie.
I'm going to tell you quickly how to ensure that your child does fabulously in Richmond Elementary..
YOU AS A PARENT..BE PRESENT! Be familiar, and be
known! VOLUNTEER FOR EVERYTHING! Enjoy your child's elementary years, be a part of it. If you can't.perhaps grandma or even aunt "Emily" , can stand in for you! Be a trip mom..your needed. You'll receive love from helpless kids whose parents are never
there. Consider a Part time job, with the School Board. It's great to say that you work for the Philadelphia school board! Its a status that is not.
to shabby! :-) . Talk to your child's principle! Hand him a letter of your offer to help, emphasis, your ability to handle kids in a crowd. Also ,
tell him in the letter how eager you are to be involved in all of. your your kids field trips! & seasonal parties, cupcake mom's( my son had severe food allergies/ Anaphylactic. reactions!! In a strange coincidence my principle had.
a son a little older than mine
1 in 10, 000 chance as did we, to have such terrible terrifying life threatening food
allergies ) My son Shane's principle in my case was absolutely thrilled at having me around taking 97% of the
headache that comes with a
sick kid in your school. Many
life skills are valuable in the
district. But , first of all... if
you are able to take a f/p time
job with the School District of
Philadelphia...Talk to the
principle and no one else...the
positions can tend to be cut
throat, so If you get onanyone's , as well as
everyone's good side lol !
Make sure it's the PRINCIPLE
OF YOUR SCHOOL.
70% of most schools depends on the involvemen of
the parents, grand parents,
guardians etc . BE THE ADVOTE FOR YOUR CHILD,!
Make sure that everyone knows who you are! :-)
In fact once they know that you are present
You alone can be the difference between a positive and successful experience, or a total washout your kids barely have a chance...if your involvement in the child's education is to get them on the bus..JUST HONESTLY , REMEMBER..IN LIFE ...CONSIDER YOUR SELF BLESSED..IF YOU GET 30% back on the 100% you've invested.
My solemn advice to getting the most out of , and the survival of your experience with the dreaded Richmond School would be to" MAKING YOURSELF PRESENT AND KNOWN" be that loud mouth , force of nature where itll be utilized in the best possible way..

Provided by YP.comThis school is terrible, and the staff only thinks of themselves. they are so worried about the school looking bad, that they neglect the the children being bullied, I just withdrew my son from this school because he is petrified to go to school, he has been bullied from day one, and nothing is ever done about it. lunch and recess are a joke, the administration dont do anything because they dont want things of this nature getting out they want it to stay internal so they look good from the sources outside. it is a disgrace....something should be done, no child should be afraid to go to school!!

Provided by YPmobileI give this school no stars! My children attend this school and it is extremely disturbing to me the amount of bullying and fights that go on! Nothing that I've seen or heard is done about it. I am in the process of trying to have my children transferred out of this school! I would not recommend this school to anyone cause I don't feel that things will ever change and I totally know that children attend this school in fear!

Provided by YP.comthis school sucks! My grandkids go here. granted they have an armed officer on campus but only in the am. during recess my grandson got jumped by 4 older kids and nothing was done. no one was in the yard to stop or prevent this from happening. and its not the very first time. my younger grandson was kicked in the face, i reported this to the bullying hotline. so when we took our kids to school the following day after we reported the incident, we were approached by the security officer and the staff as to why we reported the school, "you are making us look bad" is what they told us.
therefore we are taking our kids out this year and if this abuse continues, we will be taking the next step, we have acquired a lawyer. (my daughter works with lawyers) I, myself am a nurse, we work hard and we just want someone to take charge of this situation.
HELP! This school is not good.....BAD! God awful !
