Provided by YP.comI've gone to this diner to dine in many times, and although the service is not that great its open late and the food is pretty good. More recently I've been getting take out in the early afternoon and I noticed the owner whose usually the cashier, a caucasian elderly man will not place anything in the hand of an african american. The first time it happened I brushed it off but after four separate occasions it was very obvious, especially after I saw him give money back to a caucasian woman in hand then when waiting on me. Placed credit card, receipt and pen on the table while my hand was in plain view reaching for these items and after I placed the same items in his hand. He even went around my hands once and placed my receipt and change on the counter. This was a old way of disrespecting african americans after the civil rights movement but apparently it is still being practiced at the south street diner. I don't think I want to eat somewhere where I'm being treated differently based on my skin color. If you don't believe me see for yourself.
...A disappointed customer.
