St. Joseph's Preparatory School, founded in 1851, is a Catholic, urban, college preparatory school in the Jesuit tradition. It offers educational programs in religious studies, English, math, computer science, history, science, fine arts and classics and modern languages. It also offers elective art courses in sculpture, painting, ceramics and illustration. Its journalism students produce their own newspaper, The Nose, in cooperation with the Philadelphia Inquirer. The school has athletic teams in cross country, football, soccer, basketball, bowling, indoor track, swimming, wrestling, baseball, golf, lacrosse and tennis. St. Joseph's Preparatory School is located in Philadelphia.
