I had taken my dog to this vet several times for a bad cough and to have her anal sacs expressed. One doctor told me she had a collapsed trachea but didn't have a treatment for it. After several more visits they said she had a heart murmur but again said it was just something to keep an eye on. I also have a heart murmur so I wasn't overly concerned, as they weren't. Last night she was having a really hard time breathing so I rushed her over there at 1:30am. The vet said she probably had congestive heart failure but wouldn't be sure until he took a series of five x-rays and it would cost about $250.00. Keep in mind she weighs 5 lbs. He said he was going to go take the x-rays and would be back in 5 minutes to show them to me and that the prognosis would be about a year to live. Maybe 3 months maybe 3 years but that she would be put on 3 medications for the remainder of her life. He said she was doing better and that they had her on oxygen and left the room. About 40 minutes later he came back and said the x-ray machine was broken and they were trying to fix it and left the room. About 20 minutes later one of the techs came in and said I could go back and see her if i wanted which I did. They had her in a cage that was supposed to giving her oxygen. When I opened to cage door all I smelled was funk and it was warm inside. I went in and out a few times to check on her and no one was ever paying any attention to her. Finally around 3:30am the vet came in and said it still wasn't fixed so I told him to get me my dog and I would take her to a hospital that could help her. The vet said well let me get you an estimate on the proposed care for her. He left and a tech came in and showed me the estimate~$1200.00 and $800 due right now and this would be for the next 12 hours of care. I said I want my dog right now so I can get her some immediate help. The girl made me sign a paper saying I was refusing care and that I would have to sign a dnr. I said whatever go get my dog. The vet came back in and said he didn't recommend moving her and I said she needs help which she isn't getting. Less than 2 minutes had passed and he continued harrassing me about taking her. I asked what difference does it make if she dies because she could die there as well. At that point the tech came in and screamed she's dying! at me and ran back inside. I followed her back and asked if my dog was dying. She was lying still on the exam bed and the girl screams at me we are doing cpr! I asked if she was dead and she repeats we are doing cpr. I stormed out and was going to go get my husband. The tech storms out after me and said do you want us to keep doing cpr? I was hysterical at this point and left. I got home and they called to talk to my husband and said they revived her and if did we want them to keep treating her? For $1200.00. After I gathered myself together (about 20 minutes) I went back and told them I wanted my dog. They asked if I wanted her in a cardboard coffin or my pet carrier. They brought her body out and charged me $350.00. As I was paying the bill they wouldn't even look me in the eyes. I told them they should be ashamed of themselves and asked them if I had paid them the $1200.00 and she died 5 minutes later would they have given me my money back and she said no since they would have given her all that care. I'll let you make your own conclusions about this place. I myself will never let them care, and I use that term loosely, for my animals. Not one person ever mentioned chf to me before as they kept taking my money. Maybe she could have been put on medicine and relieved some but they didn't care enough. They are a money grabbing rip off and don't care about the animals. But they are open 24 hours! 2.5 hours I was there. I never thought she was dying when I took her there. I'm so heart broken and feel like I let her down in her tim...

The most importan thing when i walk in a business is dignity. when i walked in here, the so called receptionist didnt even look me in the eyes to greet me and she had a nasty spirit. My dog took a poopoo all over the front office so i did leave w/ a smile. i will go to a different vett for my dogs next shots.

I have had to visit North Valley Regional Animal Hospital twice withen the last month . Dr Luntz took great care of both of my girls with excellant care. My cat was given fluids and was better within hours. My dog unfortunaltely had to be put to sleep a few days later. My dogs illness came on unexpectedly.Dr Luntz made sure I knew all of the treatment options from euthanasia to Vet specialists . All of the staff seemed to genuinely care about my animals and my well being. Thank you!

Dr. Luntz and his staff promptly got to work on my elderly dog to discover why he could not breath. They were kind and gentle and spoke to him with real reassurance. The prognosis for my beautiful old guy turned out to be bad, but Dr. Luntz was genuinely concerned and compassionate. He gave us our options and explained everything completely. He was honest and forthright with us. We took our beautiful lab home one more time before letting him go on to heaven the next day. Thank you Dr. Luntz for giving us that.

Crap! They want payment at the time of service, this is crap! they should have payment options available because not everyone can come up with $500 at the drop of a hat! This pisses me off, because my cat may have a broken leg, and all i can do is sit here while my cat is in pain, because this animal hospital won't take payments! if regular 'human' hospitals accept payments, why can't this animal hospital? it's a load of freaking crap! they might want to come up with a payment option that works for people that don't have money falling out of their you know what!

After anifilact shock, They treated my dog with a scence of urgency and knew what it was as soon as he came in. Cons- Price, but what do you expect with an animal Er right? Love the staff and the quailty of work. They are really good about check ups as well.
