5th Ave Cafe is a neighborhood institution owned by Errol and Dawn White. The latest owners of a decades-old restaurant, the decor is jazz, art and family and the food is modernized cafe flavored with Greek. We've eaten here about a decade and keep returning, mostly for breakfast. Our general favorite is the Cowboy Veggie Skillet, hold the cheese, accompnied by coffee, OJ and a cup of oatmeal.

Fifth Ave. lives my vision of contentious Arizona, indeed, our contentious world, where people gather in peaceful unity to share a good meal.
