I feel like I truly was Robbed!

We are in the middle of moving out of our house and turning it into a rental property. We decided to get the irrigation fixed so we did not have to worry about the yard while it was a rental. After reaching out to the company, an older man by the name of James came out to our property to give us a quote. He didn't really look at the yard very closely and did not take any notes. Instead he keep going on and on about how long he has been in the industry and how great this company is. After giving me a basic quote, I told him that I needed to speak with my husband and would get back with him. He ended up meeting us both again and went over the details of what they would do for us. Of course none of this was in writing and told me that I would get an itemized invoice for the project. He took down some general notes and I was told that they would be starting work in 2 days. The next day I ended up going to the property that evening and found that they had already been there and ripped up part of the yard. Not really a big deal but that same day the main office called me for payment and said Nothing about them coming out that day. I would have liked to be told that they would be at the property given I still had several personal items out that I wanted to insure were locked up. A few days later, James calls me simply to ask me if I wanted the final payment to be charged to the same card. He did not explain to me that the work had been done nor did he schedule a time to do a final walk thru with me. When I visited the property it looked like they simply did a good clean up and did not do much of anything else. After sending an email expressing my concerns, I was told that the project was complete. Upon a second visit to the property, I realized that they did install the irrigation system using some of the existing pipes and installed a new timer in a location that they did not discuss with me. If they would have, I would have told them NOT to place it where they did. In our initial discussion, James had told us that they would be including a 2 inch soil removal where the grass use to be to insure that the weeds did not grow back. After the second visit to the property, I realized this was never done and had to bring it up to them. Mike, at their main office told me that he would be sending a guy out tomorrow to take care of the soil removal and made it seem like it was a courtesy given I was upset with the lack of communication. Remember the invoice I was promised?? I did not receive this invoice until AFTER I had pointed out to them that they did not remove the 2 inches of soil and the project was 'completed'. Upon review of the invoice, I was appalled as the charges they had listed. The charged me $750 for a clean up of the property. I know for a Fact that I could have gotten the same clean up done for nearly 25% of this cost. They also had the 2 inch soil removal listed on the invoice, interesting considering they claimed to be done with the project knowing that this was Never done! They also charged me $675 for THREE plants!! I could have gone to the local nursery and spent the same amount of money they charged me for One plant and gotten several more plants and simply planted them myself!!

I just spent $4200 and truly feel I got robbed!

I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone and will be sure to tell all of my friends, family and neighbors to NEVER use Phoenix Valley Landscaping!
