Provided by YP.comI had taken my dog to this clinic since he was a 6 week old puppy almost 13 years ago. In very early June I brought my now 12 yr old lab in for symptoms of Valley Fever (a cough and some lameness in his legs). They gave him a blood test and a bunch of pain pills for what they assumed was arthritis. The blood test was negative. My boy got progressively worse and I brought him in repeatedly for more help. But $1,300 worth of office visits and medications later and they just kept on with even more pain meds, many of which he began to throw up. By the end of July my dog was barely walking, had no appetite, and lost a lot of weight. They took an x ray of his stomach in early June but never of his lungs. When I insisted on a lung xray, over a month after my initial visit, the Vets then saw his one lung was infected . My dog missed 2 months of treatment for a fungal infection they never checked on despite his worsening symptoms. It broke my heart when my dog passed away in mid August. I am VERY disappointed in this clinic. The Vets who treated him never called after the tragedy. I had to be the one to insist on the xray and insist on a treatment more aggressive than pain pills. I lost him way too soon. I no longer will trust Alta Vista with my other lab or any future pup I may get. I realize these doctors are very busy...but this clinic has lost touch with what's most important, our pets welfare....
