Assistance League of Phoenix Thrift Shop sells clothing, furniture, house wares and toys donated by Assistance League members, businesses and others. Assistance League of Phoenix, a nonprofit organization of volunteers, operates the store and uses the proceeds to fund its initiatives, which include scholarships, clothing drives and toy drives for children in that community. Assistance League was the first nonprofit, nonpolitical, nonsectarian organization founded in the Western United States to utilize volunteers to help those less. With approximately 24,000 members in 115 chapters throughout the country, Assistance League volunteers work more than 2 million hours each year to address the emotional and physical needs of children and adults of all ages through philanthropic projects. The organization was founded in 1935.
