I am considering starting the LPN program at the Phoenix campus. I am slightly hesitant after reading many reviews of Fortis, in general. I am trying to get more information specifically about Fortis/Phoenix. If anyone is currently in this program, I would greatly appreciate your honest input. This is a major step for me, as I am over 50 and recently lost my husband. I am a Sleep Technologist, but want a career change that will enable me to work anywhere at any age. I want to get started asap, but am worried.

Fortis is just the same as any other private school for acclerated programs. Tuition and costs will be inflated, you won't agree with the personalities of some of your classmates or instructors, and the curriculum will be a lot more condensed. I admit there has been issues with the instructors as far as attitudes, and changes in the class schedules because of instructor availability. But the students and staff are very friendly and open, so much so that I know almost everyone in the day schedule by name! Overall you get from the program, what you put into the program. Its your education and future, put aside the biased perspectives and go for it. Feel free to email me with any questions, I'll be a student for a here for a while :-)

Please don't go to this school! I ended up at fortis college because of a friend, but little did I know I'd end up paying over $10,000 to go to a school that's full of drama and has very little staff that actually knows what they're doing. I'm in the medical assisting program and it's just been a disaster since I started. They had 2 teachers quit since semptember, one of which literally walked out on the very first day of class and never came back. This school used to have 2 class scheduled, one from 8-1 and the other from 5-10 but in October they added another time slot, 1-6 so they could make more money. It would be perfectly fine except that they had one of the instructors teaching both the 1-6 and 5-10 classes, which meant that she had to be going back and forth between classes for an hour. The other problem at this school is that the students are extremely rude. They don't follow the dress code and overall just have bad attitudes. Several of the externship sites that had contracts

You get what you put into your education. From the language used in the last review, I suggest you go to a community college first. This school has standards and if you don't currently meet the standards, try again if its that important to you. This school is not a mill, you will know what you are doing when you leave Fortis.
