Joe and Joan opened at the original location in the teeth of the worst economic downturn in 70 years. They moved to this location after a few years.

Joe was trained at the California Culinary Institute in San Francisco, then cooked and baked at several locations, including Pastry Chef at The Boulders in Cave Creek AZ.

When he began his own business, Joe brought Cordon Bleu skills to American Cafe cooking. Jams and apple butter are made weekly, croissants and bread are baked here, sauces and gravies are made fresh daily.

We are steady customers here, Joe's is on our Wednesday breakfast local restaurant circuit. Give Joe's a try. My favorite sandwich is the chicken salad croissant.
