As Maricopa County has grown through the years, so has the Maricopa County Attorney's Office. It has 15 specialized bureaus with more than 900 attorneys, investigators, administrators, paralegals, victim advocates and support staff. All are dedicated to improving the quality of community life in the Valley of the Sun. Formed in February 1871, Maricopa County was one of the original four counties in territorial Arizona. Phoenix became the territorial capitol in 1889, and by the turn of the century, Maricopa County was on its way to becoming a bustling metropolis. The Maricopa County Attorney s Office has six offices throughout Maricopa County.
