Provided by YP.comAll of their new skates come with one hand sharpening, the owner was not at the store on that day, the sales ladies decided to sell me a pair without sharpening them and they didn’t bother to tell me. When I asked if the skates were sharpened, they told me they were sharpened. My daughter wore them the first time, she was falling over and over, I never saw her falling like this, her new skates were scratch, she had bruises on her legs and her coach told me that she could not wear these skates until they were sharpened. I was not happy; I called the owner about this. He did not apologize to me for his staff, instead he shouted at me and told me that was nothing wrong some people could wear that for six months without sharpening. Really? I would never go back there again. They have very poor business ethics. After hours search online, I finally found a place with a real professional staff to sharpen my daughter skates. The man at Ice Den taught me how to check the blades if they are dull. I learned a lot of from him about the skates. As I compared my skates sharpened by Pro edge and my daughter skates sharpened by Ice Den, my daughter’s pair were sharper than mine.
The bottom line: If you are experienced skater and you know what you are looking for without help, you might save a few dollars going there. On the other hand, if you are like me, don’t know anything about the skates, the Pro Edge people would take advantage of you. I suggest you go to the Ice Den Pro shop; the figure skates specialist will fit and sharpen your skates. He has a lot more experience than the sales ladies. Make sure you check his schedule before you go there.
