I had some recipes that called for Jalapeno Powder and could not find it easily where I live. My mom said she would look in Phoenix when she got back from visiting. She purchased it from Sahuaro Spice Co and sent it to us. Even though I have never smelled or tasted fresh jalapeno powder before, this was pretty darn good. Before their ext visit, I had a shopping list of 17 herbs/spices we needed to replenish at home here in San Diego County.



Even though most sizes are 1 pound and 8 ounces, we were happy to have so much left over as buying from the chemical company McCormick was a waste of time and money. The price of 1 lb of most spices was close to that of one jar of commercial grade faux spices. Not only did Sahuaro spices/herbs taste great, they made our spare room smell even better (Not that they smelled bad in the first place!)



The best part is when I e-mailed them asking for a recipe for their infamous chorizo mix. Within 5 minutes of me asking the best way to prepare it, they sent a reply with a great looking recipe for it. I said great looking because I mixed it a few hours ago and have not cooked it for breakfast yet. Even though making chorizo with 7 lbs of meat, I was able to configure it for my needs.



It is also a great plus that they ship with reasonable rates through UPS, even though I can just ask my folks for a few spices every time they visit!
