Provided by YP.comI had searched and researched the best place to try and have a custom wheel built. After many companies here in phoenix stating that the job was too intricate and that is something they wouldn't feel comfortable doing, I finally found the worst company unbeknown to me at the time...Superfinishers II. It is a machining company that actually has some reputable accounts so i was less weary and really wanted to have a credible and capable working on my dream which was to start a high end custom wheel line.
Michael Hanshew had me pay an outside 3D CAD designer which actually was the least of the problems bc it wasn't an exhourbanent amount of money and was told after we had the 3 d design, we could proceed to the machining process. He wanted a down payment to take on the project and said "that's just what I do". In the grand scheme of things I didn't think that was too out of line and paid the money which was so improperly calculated because he had no idea what the total would be; not even a ballpark estimate. He said afterwards that for all of the 4 wheels he was thinking it would be around $5k for the project start to finish. he started on one of the wheels to give me a mockup and the way this so-called "aero engineer" had made this prototype was so incredibly faulty in so many ways, an amatuer could determine that it clearly wouldn't work. Aesthically it looked okay but he literally had my spoke designs for this wheel affixed with phillps head screws that would have loosened upon the first few miles of driving on them. That would be impossible because I only had one of the four wheels even semi-completed and that was around the $3000 mark. This guy would not return my phone calls, does not have a cell phone and was avoiding me to no end and I kept telling him I was shooting for a due date and to PLEASE give some sort of completion date. This dude was all about the money and knew that I was vulnerable and uber excited to have my wheels finished. After a lapse in communication for approximately 3 weeks i finally went down to his shop where his cohort Tony informed me he was out of town. Tony informed me that there had been about 51 hours of machine time on my one wheel!! I said how is that even possible bc the work that was done was minimal. After I emailed Michael Hanshew about my concern and dissappointment I finally was told that he can no longer work within my time frame and to please pickup my wheels. There was a balance that he said must be paid if I want my materials back. He had ordered tools that were not necessary in manufacturing this wheel and I had to pay this balance if I wanted my stuff. The tools that were purchased had never even been used and he went on to make another false statement about how he needed them to do the work correctly. How was the first wheel machined if that was the case???!!!! Michael Hanshew is the most unethical, bottomfeeder I have ever done business with. He basically took on the project because he knew how badlly i wanted to start my company and capitilized on that to no end. So I basically wasted $4700 on a (one) wheel that was useless and had to start from square one. My wife and myself had personally financed this project and had and have been incessantly working to try and launch this product. The invoices were so unprofessional and it was like he basically just was pulling numbers out of thin air. his lack of skill and expertise and lack of ability. In my opinion he is the worst individual I have ever met and done business and hope this passage I have written will provide others protection from this theif. If you ever find yourself in need of CNC work or lathe or machine work I would advise you to blindfold yourself and try and do the machining yourself because that is how I feel the product made by Superfinishers II in Phoenix,AZ was ineffectively produced.
