Provided by YP.comDay staff Good.Evening staff treated patients terribly. Really bad communication throughout hospital.I was promised a counselor,I never saw one.Doctors were only available if you could catch them in the hallway. They wouldn't let you sleep even if you were detoxing. It felt more like jail than getting detox that I was promised/needed.Food-okay,they would serve you a steak/pork chop with no knife. Very difficult to eat.Feed something that we could eat with just a fork or a spoon. It made you feel more inadequate, like a savage. You Do get smoke breaks.
One last thing I would like to add is that it would be really nice if there was some outside time for like an hour maybe playing basketball or a grassy area for even non smokers to just relax and get some outside air. People that are depressed/anxiety/suicidal need natural Sun and outside time. They need those natural vitamins. Please take the last thing I said it in some real consideration. I think it would really help alot of the patients.

Provided by YP.comLet's start off with all of the privacy violations, speaking in hallways, group rooms, the nurses station and meds dispensed right in front of other patients. The food is nothing but white carbs and a ton of sugar. I wasn't on any new meds and was refusing pain meds for my arthritis until it got so bad that I asked for a wheelchair and was refused. So I started taking motrin every 4 hours just to take the edge off until I could get home to my holistic meds. Also, waking people up by screaming "VITALS" down the hallway at 6:15 am I am sure is great for patients recovering from depression, anxiety, and PTSD. The financial counselor was asking to pay my bill on the 3rd day of treatment, on the 8th day I was kept in a locked room from my loved one saying I hadn't spoke with a FC. Thank goodness I pulled out my paperwork that said "SEND BILL TO PATIENT" Claudia then stated I said I would make a payment at discharge. I had to explain that my insurance might pay them 100% since I had already been admitted to Honor Health and had an ambulance ride there and only had $1400 left until my maximum out of pocket was met. So depending on who got the bills in first I might not owe them a penny and i was sure they wouldn't reimburse me. I also felt like I was counseling the patients more than any dr, therapist, or social worker was. It was mentally draining for me and hearing the stories of rapes, molestations, and stalkers actually made me worse off when I got out and was fearing for my safety.

Provided by YP.comI'm sure it's very difficult to make everyone happy given the type of hospital this is. I know its really easy to bash a place when you are off your medications, or didn't receive the narcotics you were looking for (referring to some of the reviews I've read).
I can say first hand that I witnessed unreal quality of care at Valley Hospital. The hospital is very clean, the techs are fabulous although I didn't have any experience with the overnight techs as I was sleeping. The nurses were very attentive and made me feel comfortable and the doctors although very busy, took the time and were very patient with my needs. I would easily recommend this Hospital to those needing help with Detox or mental health issues.

Provided by YPmobileThis place antagonizes it's patients until they refuse to stay then threatens to call the police if they don't show up for outpatient therapy. But it's bull. They don't care about their patients. They should lose their accreditation for treating patients with mental illness.

Provided by YPmobileAmazingly carrying, attentive, and compassionate team of doctors, nurses, therapists, and assistants. A safe space for people who need crisis stabilization, detox/chemical dependency support, or help with their declining mental health. I am grateful to every single person who crossed my path in this facility for contributing to my recovery, especially those in Freedom Care. I spent ten days inpatient and came out feeling hopeful with new skills and meds that actually worked for me.
I checked in and was told that I would be in Freedom Care for the night and moved to the women's unit the following day. I ended up requesting to stay in Freedom Care because I felt like I could thrive better in a smaller, quieter environment and they granted that request. Dr.Wilson saw me really soon in my stay and changed a lot of my meds which I was nervous about since med changes can be tricky. It ended up being the perfect combination and I already felt better several days later. They offer three meals a day, healthy snacks, group therapy, recreational therapy, smoke breaks if you need them, and downtime to yourself which you can use to sleep, watch tv, read, visit with floor mates, or work on therapy material. Visitation is every evening from 7:30-8:30 and they try to limit to two visitors per person because it does get crowded. I never saw anything get out of control during my stay, but each unit was well staffed and ready to jump in and help other units if anything were to happen. This was my first stay in a psychiatric hospital and there are obviously people in there suffering from severe mental illness. I never once felt unsafe though and it was the reset that I desperately needed.
There are rules and policies that annoy some people (no makeup compacts with mirrors, no electronics, no shoelaces, no beauty products with high alcohol content, no revealing clothing or clothing that promotes violence or substance use). Everything is about safety though and if you're admitted as an inpatient, you or your floor mates probably need those rules in place to protect yourselves. Everybody at Valley Hospital wants to ho you and see you succeed in the program's so just go with the rules and respect the staff and you should have a great experience.

Provided by YP.comThe outpatient program is great, I have never been inpatient so I cannot comment on that. The therapists are amazing and this program picks me up just down the street from my house everyday.
