Provided by YP.comI was told Dr. James Van Stone was a great vet. After seeing him in action a few weeks ago, I would have to agree. Alone he would rate a five. But I would definitely say he should leave his wife at home or in the car. My husband and I were asked by our neighbor to help with their horse. The horse was laying down. The majority of the time (off and on), I was by his withers petting, talking to him, and at t
different times we were trying to help him get up. At one point, the owner was in front of him adjusting his front foot position and I remained by his withers. I commented to the owner about getting a shovel to remove some clumps. At this time, he horse push himself up onto my lap threw his head back and hit me in the face.( I was expecting the horse to throw his head back but not to move back that much.) I was frantic. I jumped up and ran a little ways away. I was yelling ouch. I was bent over wondering how many of my teeth were knocked out. I was dizzy and wondering if I was going to pass out. The owner asked if everyone was ok. I yelled no and James' wife was yelling yes repeatedly. When she finally shut up; I yelled no again. The owner asked the second time. With the same results, except the wife yelled repeated yes a few more times; but I still got my no in when she finally shut up. The third time the owner asked "what?... Is everyone ok? And she was looking around. I was yelled "no" and starting waving my arm. Well, I do not know if the vet's wife thought the owner was deaf or if she wanted to out drown me, she started yelling yes louder. By this time (maybe 5 minutes later) I was bent over on my knees. I realized that I did have my teeth and although dizzy, I didn't think I would pass out. The owner then asked the vet if she was sure everyone was ok and the vet's wife yelled her yes, yes, yes ....... again. All I wanted to do at that point is go home. Did she ask me? No. I was with the horse the entire time I was there. Was she unable to count to three and notice someone was gone. I could have been laying there passed out and no one would have known until my husband came back down. All because she assured the owner that I was OK. She must have thought her name was Everyone, and she did not care about the Nobody. Hopefully she cares for animals , because I know she has no regards for a human life. I recommend calling Dr. James Van Stone, just tell him to leave the attention seeker at home. I do not believe in karma. I do, however, believe people tend to repeat themselves and I do not want this or worse to happen someone else. This type of person are the ones that run up to First Responders and ask them why they are there and assure the First Responders that everyone is Ok.........while someone goes without medical attention. That one or two minutes without air can be the difference between life and death. She needs to shut up, look around, and listen. This will allow others to do the same..... instead of her trying to focus the attention on herself.

Provided by YP.comWe are a local German Shepherd breeder, so you can imagine, we rely on having a top notch, well educated, caring, flexible and a quick decision making vet. Dr James and his staff are just that. We actually live in Brainerd, but travel the extra distance as the care we receive at Pierz Vet far exceeds any of the other vets we have tried in the area. Every greeting is with a smile. They instantly come and welcome our dogs back to help them feel comfortable. We have had many routine exams, along with a few emergencies. We always walk away feeling so grateful to have such an experienced team on our sides. Their prices are very fair, their establishment is always clean, staff are very compassionate and they are available 24/7. Dr Hoyt, April and Brittany have always showered our dogs with love as well. It is very clear that Dr James does this as a passion, not as a money sucking business. I highly recommend going to Pierz Vet Clinic for your small and large animal needs.
