Provided by YP.comSince it’s still Easter and I haven’t posted anything yet (Happy Easter everybody), I have decided to talk about The Shroud Museum in Pigeon Forge. It’s owned by a family friend and I was so excited to be able to visit earlier this month. Attached are pictures of a few of the exhibits (there are so many; yes it is a lot of reading but there is also a way to listen to everything being read to you). There are more to come as well.
But on the exhibits there:
-One of 18 existing full size replicas of the Shroud of Turin
-An exact replica (down to the water stains on the walls) of the Garden Tomb
-History of the Shroud, scientific study of the Shroud
-History of Roman crucifixion
-Replica of the crossbeam of the cross, the part Jesus would have, according to historical study, carried (weighing approximately 75-125 pounds)
-Replica of the crown of thorns
-Replica of the face cloth
-Actual heel bone of a crucified man, complete with nail badly bent from impact against cross
-Real Roman nails used around the time period in which Jesus was crucified
-Diagrams of the Shroud
-Scientific study of crucifixion process
-Lots of fantastic artwork created by the owner
It really looks amazing and, if you go when the owner is there, he sometimes will walk back and talk to you about several of these replicas. It’s so insane to read all this information—I had thought that the Shroud has been debunked, but evidence shows otherwise!
Basically, next time you go to Pigeon Forge, you need to visit The Shroud Museum!
