Operational since 1881, the American Red Cross has been one of the leading emergency response organizations in the world. Based in Washington, D.C., it is part of a worldwide movement that offers neutral humanitarian care to the victims of war. The American Red Cross distinguishes aids victims of devastating natural disasters.
