Food was not tasty. Feathers fried with the chicken. I did not write this review! It really saddens me that my review of Sam's Southern Eatery was re-written. What is the purpose of reviews if one cannot write of one own experience. Kudos to Amazon they do not alter reviews!!! Don't ask for a person to review if it is going to be altered!!! Very disappointed!!! I am sure what I have written on today will be altered!! This only makes me mad enough to file a complaint!!!

I will never eat at Sam's Southern Cooking ever again. 30 minutes to take our order. No refills on drinks. After she finally took our order, she brings us someone else's order. Then acts like we are the ones at fault. Finally brings the food. We have now been there 45 minutes. And the order is still wrong. No utensils, no sauce, and no refills. Isaac ordered buffalo wings, and they tried to give him chicken strips twice. The server complained about having to work on Mothers Day. And after all that, they only said 'sorry for the inconvenience'. They did not comp the meal. so, if you want good service, and good food, don't go to Sam's Southern Cooking in Pine Bluff AR.

Very Disappointed

I have had fish from Sam's once before at a family gathering. It was fairly tasty and fit the needs for the event. But somehow, I just wasn't convinced that I was eating catfish. So, last night? my family decided to make the 30+ mile trip to Pine Bluff just to get some food from there, I thought I'd try something different; something that I've done at other southern seafood restaurants before, order a whole catfish. I ordered my food to go and as far as first impressions go, I was pleasantly surprised by the level of customer service that was provided. The lady taking orders at the cash register was friendly and talkative, as was the wait staff who assisted with taking care of the dine-in customers.

Each whole "catfish" was $2.99 which wasn't bad but it definitely gave me pause when the young lady taking my order demonstrated the size of each fish. I am used to getting one entire catfish that is enough to share. It took about 10 minutes to get my order which wasn't bad for freshly made fried fish. So, on the way back home, I decided to take a taste. When I did, I immediately got a mouth full of small bones. I knew it was not catfish that I was eating. Any down south, country eater knows that catfish do not have a long continuous dorsal fin that can be removed from a fried fish with one pull. No way! The fish also maintained the gelatinous silver coating over most of the body of the fish. Anyone who cooks fried fish knows that you skin catfish before frying it. Yes, I do know that some of that coating will be on the part of the fish that is usually used for catfish nuggets. The more and more I thought about it, it finally hit me that what I was eating was not catfish but TILAPIA!!!! The tail of the 2 fish that I ordered had been cut to disguise the tail. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed. Buyer beware...

The friendliness of the staff and the hand-breaded jumbo shrimp are what earned Sam's more than one star. The fish, which was the purpose of my trip, was definitely a miss!
