Miami Palmetto Senior High School enrolls more than 3,000 students in grades 9 through 12. Established in 1958, the school is spread across an area of more than 20 acres and has over 90 classrooms. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as science, social studies, fine arts, business technology and physical education. The school offers the English for Speakers of Other Languages program. It operates biology, chess, film and Japanese clubs, as well as a parent-teacher-student association and media center. The school offers membership opportunities in the National Science Honor Society and the Future Business Leaders of America. It provides several sports activities, such as volleyball, football and cross-country. Miami Palmetto Senior High School is a part of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, which serves students through several elementary, middle, charter and high schools.
