Provided by YP.comThis place does hire a young crew, but they are always courteous and friendly. Sometimes the service feels slow, however that is because they are ALWAYS busy. If you go to any popular restaurant, it is expected that there is a wait! Plus I don't mind waiting for quality food and this place always serves the freshest fish. I'd have to say that Happy Sashimi is my fav go to spot for sushi in the east bay.

Provided by YP.comWithout a doubt, Happy Sashimi makes living in Pinole feel less like a suburb.
The Sashimi Dinner Plate with rice, miso and salad is enough for my wife and I to share and the sushi chefs prepare each plate uniquely. They know that I like the Kona Kampachi and that always seems to make it's way to my plate.
The one downside is the lag that wait staff attributes to, but, I cure that by sitting at the sushi bar and ordering directly from the sushi chefs.

Provided by YP.comMy favorite roll is one that the owner, Chris, made with Tommy V's Hot Sauce;. It is a spicy tuny roll with ginger on top and an incredible amount of spice in the middle.
I always order the dinner mixed sashimi and for $21 it is enough for two people, along with a roll.
The fish is always very fresh and their super white tuna used to make my buddy drive in from the City just to have.

Provided by YP.comI've ordered there numerous times but it looks like the service is getting worse even though the surrounding lot will be upgraded. On average, every other time I ordered they've made a mistake in either making the sushi wrong or forgeting a part of my order. I've even asked to speak to the manager and have been hung up on! The food is good when it's done correctly, but they need to train their young waiters who don't even know what is on the menu. If you're just craving for sushi go there when it's not busy and make sure the order is right, otherwise forget it when it's busy because they'll screw things up.
