Founded in 1996, Pismo Beach Veterinary Clinic has long been a center for premium veterinary care on the beautiful Central Coast. As one of the only American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) certified clinics in San Luis Obispo County, we pride ourselves on our commitment to excellence in veterinary medicine. You and your pets will be treated like family, while receiving the best and most compassionate care that the veterinary profession has to offer. This is part of the reason that we have been voted Best in SLO several years in a row!

Our building itself has a long history, reflecting in many ways the interesting story of Pismo Beach.  As near as we can estimate, it was built in the early 1920s and has had many reincarnations: first as a general store, then a tattoo parlor, barbershop, and (we strongly suspect) a flophouse.  The founders, Dr. Suzanne Hennessy and Kim Foster, purchased the property in 1996 and began extensive renovation to convert it into a veterinary clinic.  It has again undergone numerous changes since the current owners, Drs. Joel, Max, and Sarah Conn took over in 2009 in order to make it the state-of-the-art facility  that it is today.

Over the years, we have expanded our services and facilities to meet the ever changing demands of the veterinary field, most recently with the addition of digital radiography and a house call service. We are open seven days a week from 8:00am until 5:30 pm to help better serve our clients and animal friends.  Although we will gladly accommodate daytime emergencies, we highly recommend scheduling appointments to avoid a wait.  Our receptionists will do their best to get your pet seen in a timely manner.

Our doctors, Joel Conn, Maxwell Conn, Sarah Conn, Suzanne Hennessy, and Liz Noppinger are joined by an experienced and friendly staff of Registered Veterinary Technicians, veterinary assistants, and receptionists.

Here at Pismo Beach Veterinary Clinic, we believe strongly in preventative medicine.  We feel that regular wellness exams, parasite prevention, and screening lab-work are an important part of managing your loved ones health and helping to make sure that he or she is around for many years to come.  Since your animal friends cannot talk, we rely upon regular check-ups to catch subtle changes in their health before problems occur.

We would like to thank you in advance for entrusting us with your pets health management, and we will continually strive to provide you with the compassion, respect, and quality care that your animal family member deserves.  We will do our best to make you feel at home, providing an environment that is comfortable and welcoming to the entire family.

If you ever have any questions regarding your pets health, diet, behavior, or general care please do not hesitate to contact us.  We welcome your comments, suggestions, and feedback.
