Established in January 1902, Pittsburg Public Library serves the city of Pittsburg, Kansas and surrounding communities. Its entrance includes automatic doors and access to additional parking, handicapped spaces and a convenient fifteen minute parking. In addition, the library has a new media space room. It is in partnership with Crawford County Genealogical Society, The City of Pittsburg, Leonard H. Axe Library, Pittsburg State University, Southeast Kansas Library System and State Library of Kansas. A department of the City of Pittsburg, the library has received the Award for Excellence from the Kansas Preservation Alliance.
