So why does the Chamber of Commerce President hire a new chamber director without posting the position on the chamber website or in the newspapers, nor holding interviews, if this position is suppose to promote Pittsburg? The chamber is not business friendly nor public friendly. Many business owners as well as the public feels like it is a fixed game at the chamber for those on the board. This is why there has been such a large drop in membership with the chamber. Business owners feel like the board is pushing their self-interest instead of promoting for all of Pittsburg. With so many people unemployed I am more than positive that a person with direct experience in running a chamber could have applied and attained this position if given the opportunity. I would have loved to have applied for the position and have superior qualification to those of the new director, but in Pittsburg being a yes man is what is wanted in these types of positions and it is who you know, not what you know. The last chamber director bailed ship after a short time, like the one before and the one before and the one before............ My question is to the business owners of Pittsburg, "Why do you support an organization that does so little for Pittsburg and operates in an unethical fashion of internal nepotism?" Your downtown is slowly dying. It's time to get rid of the good old boy system in Pittsburg. Hire those that are qualified and not your buddies.

The Chamber Director is NEVER in the office. Always "working at home" yet nothing ever gets done. Well, she just got FIRED or was it she resigned.....same thing. New guy in, given the job by the current President of the Chamber. Not qualified, he just knows the President of the Chamber. No, they did not advertise the job opening anywhere. What else is new in Pittsburg?

Try visiting the Chamber, no one is ever there. I was looking to relocate my small business to Pittsburg & after waiting around for 2 hours I gave up and left and went to Mt. Pleasant where they showed me the area and helped me to find a building to move into. The girl in charge use to be a clerk at the Mt. Pleasant Tribune newspaper & is about as qualified to do Chamber of Commerce work as is the local garbage man. The office was unlocked, the computer was on & the phones rang a few times. I could have downloaded anything she had, stole her equipment and no one would have ever know. What are you thinking Pittsburg? Was she just hired because she was friends of the President of the Chamber and some board members. That's what I have heard from area merchants that are not happy with her lackluster performance. Anyway, your loss is Mt. Pleasant's gain. Maybe next time she will call forward the Chamber phones to her cell phone & post a note on the door as to when she will return.
