DHS provides a wide range of services, including services for older adults; mental health and drug and alcohol services (includes 24-hour crisis counseling); child protective services; at-risk child development and education; hunger services; emergency shelters and housing for the homeless; energy assistance; non-emergency medical transportation; job training and placement for youth and adults; and services for individuals with mental retardation and developmental disabilities.
DHS provides these services through the DHS Area Agency on Aging and the DHS Offices of Behavioral Health; Children, Youth and Families; Community Services; and Intellectual Disability. DHS administrative offices are located in downtown Pittsburgh, Pa.

Beware the corrupt services of CPS and read the truth Senator Nancy Schaeffer tried to tell us before she was murdered. Please write your Congressman and tell them to support the parental rights amendment to stop CPS from exploiting and endangering kids for taxpayer cash.
This agency never performed services for our family, only disservices. This agency did everything it could to destroy our family, caring nothing for my child while they illegally took her from me with lies and misinformation and placed her in a state created danger. After requesting help with my behaviorally challenged child from a third party interloper who was contributing to her delinquency, they colluded with the 3rd party interloper for federal funds. They do not help children, they exploit them for tax payer dollars as they endanger them. Their purported mission statement is a farce and a travesty. How do people like this sleep at night. I guess the absence of a soul is the secret.
