Boyd Community Center is an independent nonprofit organization, offering cultural, educational and recreational classes, camps, workshops and special events. Founded in 1982, the center serves the six municipalities that comprise the Fox Chapel Area School District in Pittsburgh, including Aspinwall, Blawnox, Fox Chapel, Indiana Township, O'Hara and Sharpsburg, as well as the surrounding areas. It offers a wide variety of classes for children, including ballet, soccer, storybook art, Latin rhythms, baking, football, hockey, self-defense workshop, yoga, drawing and painting, sculpture, and conference week art camp. The center also offers adult classes and workshops, including drawing, beading, writing, calligraphy, meditation, yoga, Pilates, ballroom dance, Ikebana and Feng Shui. Boyd Community Center includes various clubs and groups, such as just for ladies, quilters, watercolor workshop and a sanctioned bridge game.
