My sewer clogged up on Monday evening. I called Matt hoping he was available to come out and clean it. Knowing Matt- his customers always come first and Matt said he would be there with in the hour. I saw the sewer back up in our basement, but when Matt arrived he pointed out that an area of the front lawn was filled with water that smelled like sewage. Matt went straight to work to try and clean out the sewer. It was very stubborn and did not want to open. So, Matt grabbed his sewer camera and stared to camera the line. We saw that my terra-cotta line was completely broken outside- hence the sewage smell in our front yard. Even though we always use Matt, he gave me an estimate so I knew what I was getting into. I was very pleased with the estimate price. Very reasonable for the amount of work needed done. I reminded Matt that I lived with five women, including my wife and that us going 'easy' on the sewer for a week would be hard. Matt explained that he would not make us wait that long to replace it and that the could start the following morning. I was thrilled. That morning Matt and his excavation crew showed up with the excavator in tow. Him and his crew began the work right away. I left for work at nine am and returned at three thirty pm. When I went over to talk to with Matt the old line was already removed and the new pipe was installed. Matt explained there needed to be inspections and that all inspectors will come the following morning. I would also get copy's of all inspections. (Matt was very thorough and professional.) The following day( I had off) the inspectors came and looked at everything needed. Once that was all done, Matt started to fill in the hole and clean up. His team cleaned up very neatly and also raked the yard of any big clumps of dirt. The work was completed roughly by three pm. I could not of been any happier with his company and the work done.

I have used Matt Mertz Plumbing for as long as I can remember. My children also do and now my grandchild and her husband bought their first home and used Matt for the home inspection and repairs. All I have to say- best plumbing company in the North Pittsburgh area!

Matt Mertz plumbing is more that anyone could ask for. My sewer backed up on Xmas eve morning and Matt didn't think twice to come out to fix it before our company arrived for brunch! He is a very hard worker and makes sure everything is to your satisfaction. His prices are very reasonable also. I will recommend him to all my friends and family, thanks Matt!!
