Tip To Toe Day Spa started in 1994. It was the first Day Spa in Pittsburgh, although people didnt know what a Day Spa was. Think back - -who had massage, facials, nails, pedicures, waxing, salt rubs, seaweed, or mud wraps with a shower in your own neighborhood, and without staying overnight? The Spas atmosphere is homey and comfortable, like going into a friends living room. The front parlor contains the booking desk, seating and manicure table. There is tea, bottled water, choice of cookies, pretzels, hard candies, and shelves of books and magazines to read if you arrive early. The books are also for trading, if you find one that interests you, take it home. There are Bakers racks with gift ideas, and personal items you may want for yourself to round out a treatment.

I went to Janice for Light Therapy on my hands and face. She was efficient and pleasant. I've been going for a few months, and love the difference in my skin!

Great Place, Map Wrong

I absolutely loved my visit to see Janice. It's a shame I had such a hard time finding her because this site shows her in the wrong spot. She told me she has had a hard time getting Yellowpages to correct it, so I decided to help out with this, because you should not miss going to her!

Janice has two entrances, one from Murray, and one from the back via a parking lot. She's actually between Douglas and Hobart, with parking off of Douglas behind the shop. Be careful not to park in the first line of cars, which is for tenants. Go to the public lot a few feet further. After parking, go to what looks like you will be entering an apartment building. There's an overhang with a few steps, and then you see her sign for the back entrance.

I had a facial, manicure, and pedicure. I just loved the whole experience, and she didn't cut me like some places do.

I agree!

I'm in Colorado and I received a gift certificate from my sister to go to Tip to Toe when I'm in town visiting her. About a month or so ago I had a relaxing day complete with massage, facial, manicure and pedicure. Janice did everything! I've never been to a salon where the same person did so much. Tip to the Wise: Her sign can be easy to miss. She's above a shoe cobbler, so look for that sign. - Dinah

Best Kept Secret!

I recently visited Janice (the owner/specialist) in Squirrell Hill. I was surprised at how reasonable her prices are. Thank goodness I made an apt. and did not just come as a walk-in! I had light therapy done on my face, and I'll definately be back to try other services! She was great! (And so is my face.) - Hannah
