Provided by YPmobileI was very disappointed wih the service and care I received. My visit was at the Hermitage PA office and I don't feel that the staff listened to my problem. The Dr. did not order a single test or x-ray but instead told me he was referring me to a pain management clinic with a diagnosis of lower back pain and was recommending steroid shots. An x-day from my pcp a week later showed I had a dislocated pelvis. I will NOT ever go back to this company.

Provided by YP.comMy mother attended UPMC Presbyterian Hospital with a stroke for the second time. Their knowledge of how to handle this type of patient is outstanding. The second stroke approx. six weeks later caused considerably more damage than the first. She was Care flown into the hospital from the Mon Valley area and they administered a PTA medication within the given window of time. Upon arrival, it was determined that she had pneumonia and was paralyzed on her left side. She was closely monitored in the ICU. Although at first I thought the staff in ICU was very abrupt, I then realized that their patients were their first priority and then explained the circumstances.
The medication administered within the window of time brought back the full use of her limbs. She was closely monitored for all vitals and was then sent to UPMC Southside for rehabilitation (by the family's choice). She is able to walk and, with some assistance dress herself after two and a half weeks. She must undergo extensive speech therapy because she is unable to speak clearly or swallow.
All this would not be possible without the education, knowledge and experience of Presbyterian Hospital's Doctors and staff. We did not have to look for doctors or nurses to ask questions of status or just ask a generic question. In one day, we met with four Doctors that explained all the details of the procedures they had performed. The nursing staff was on top of all duties. When it comes to a stroke victim, Presbyterian Hospital is impeccable. Remember, this is our second time in this arena. I am the daughter and I live in Texas. If I, myself had suffered a stroke, I would only wish that we had a facility that could administer the needs of a stroke patient as they did at Presbyterian Hospital.
Presbyterian Hospital is absolutely the best.
