This is an update to my review that follows. Not long after Jason and his crew finished, I had a roof leak which, I want to say right up front, had absolutely nothing to do with the work that they did. But when I got a call at work about the leak I reached out to Jason with an e-mail. When I got home, I found him up on my roof with a caulking gun fixing the leak! As it turned out, the leak was unrelated to the work that they did but Jason fixed it anyway. He wouldn't take anything for his work, and even left me with some high-quality sealer to reinforce the job once everything dried out. I don't even know how to characterize how impressed I was-- he beat me to my house to make sure everything was okay. “My roofs don't leak,” he told me with a grin. And you know what? I completely believe him.

The first part of my review: Before hiring Jason, I knew nothing about this company except what I read in the reviews here and what Jason said about his business/philosophy, which I liked enough to make him my first choice to call. I needed a roof replacement, and despite a heavy schedule ahead of him, he worked me in. I can't say enough for the professionalism and fine work he and his crew did. They showed up as promised, worked efficiently without rushing, and thoroughly cleaned the work site. I had a chance to chat with the crew over lunch and they were all nice folks who take pride in what they do--Jason is clearly very good at choosing the right people to create a great team. I would hire J Smegal Roofing & Renovations again anytime.

Jason was terrific to work with. Always got back to me as we signed up, scheduled and completed our roofing project in Hancock Ma.
Completed project including replacing some 4 by 8's which had some rot. Roof looks great.
Project was two low slope roofs on our house.

Jason & his crew remodeled our two bathrooms while we were away in Ireland and did an outstanding job. When we left, both bathrooms were dated & in need of face lifts. When we returned two weeks later, both bathrooms were completely renovated - re-tiled walls & floors, glass showers entries, & absolutely immaculate. These guys are professionals from start to finish - I would not hesitate to recommend them.

We found Jason to repair roof on our out of town vacation home. He did exactly what was needed. Then we asked him to complete other repairs to the house, and, again, from long distance he took great care of us. Sent plenty of pictures, and listened to us.

Mid course corrections-- no problem. Excellent work. Hope he's not too busy when we need him again!

P.S. No one gets our fifth star!
