I had the unfortunate opportunity to do business with Pittsfield Rye at the Massachusetts building at the Big E today. Bread is Buy one ($8.00), get one free! Wow how nice! I can't eat two loaves of bread, so I want one. Can I have one for $4? No. Can I have one for $5? No. Can I have one for $6? no, I'm told repeatedly, "They're buy one, get one free!" Over and over and over. Semantics. Mind games. Irritating.

Well I love their chocolate bread, so much I'll give the other loaf away; I'll take two loaves of chocolate bread. Well, no, I can't have two loaves of chocolate bread. It's not "buy one get one free" it's "buy one get any other free." So I have to pick two different breads. Again, useless pointless semantics. Am I having a conversation with my insurance company or am I buying bread?!

So Pittsfield Rye, I can't buy the quantity of or the type of bread I want? Nice. I would think you might want to use a opportunity like the Big E to create positive customer experiences which will translate into year round sales at locals distribution points. Nope. You decide to play twisted mind games. Please enjoy my $8 dollars because I will never again in my life give you a penny of my money. Not at the Big E, not at Big Y, no where. Again, enjoy my $8.
