To provide in-home computer and technology education and follow-up service and repair to senior citizens within a 50 mile radius of Pittsford, Vermont. Our goal is to educate and inspire seniors to be excited about and enjoy the different types of technology that is available today and going forward. We strive not only to introduce them to technology but to provide them with the support they may need in order to continue using technology. Our main focus is in-home education but our secondary focus is the technology education of all seniors who wish to learn, which we will support with frequent presentations about subjects that seniors are most interested in learning. We believe that seniors benefit from knowing how to use computers and other technology, because many of them find themselves isolated due to mobility or cognitive issues, and being able to access a computer is a great way, and sometimes the only way, that a senior can communicate with the outside world. We also know that when a senior learns something new, like technology, it keeps their minds sharp and their psychological health stronger. The reason we have chosen to work specifically with seniors is due to my many years of experience working one-on-one with them. I have seen their distress due to their inability to access items and services that would otherwise be available to them if they had knowledge of computers and other technology. There are many high-visibility, well-funded programs that offer computer education for children and teens. Younger adults have access to endless means of learning computers. But seniors have been left behind in the race to get the general population up to speed on the use of technology. Nobody is thinking about the importance of senior citizens knowing how to use technology, and if they are, nobody is putting forth an effort to design programs to teach seniors how to use technology.
