Provided by YP.comIn February 2014, I started looking at Martial Arts schools in East Plano for my two sons (ages 6 and 8 at the time). After contacting several schools, Grandmaster Howard Lee offered an appointment the very same day. After talking with him for short while, I immediately felt like his instruction in Taekwondo would be far superior to the other places that I contacted. I couldn’t help but relate the situation to Karate Kid. I wanted my very own Mr. Miyagi down to the specialized attention to detail and commitment to his students unlike many of the large corporate schools in the area. During my discussions with Grandmaster Lee, I realized that this is a great opportunity for my husband and me to get a bit of exercise while learning self defense and authentic Taekwondo from a Korean Grandmaster. I knew this was going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity for my family.
My family started lessons, and I was not disappointed. Grandmaster Lee incorporates so many aspects in lessons including Taekwondo, Karate, forms (katas), weapons, board breaking, self defense, sparring, free fighting, grappling, and my personal favorite - submissions. His lessons are based on private and individual instruction. He is very accommodating and flexible when we cannot make a lesson. He will reschedule a class time to make sure we get in enough lessons every week. He doesn’t require a contract of any kind. I pay by check every month.
Grandmaster Lee offers superior martial arts instruction! He really puts his heart into the art and making sure his students get quality lessons. Every time after doing my forms, I hope to hear his usual comment of, “Punch harder and faster. Kick higher and faster.” If I hear these comments, then I know everything else was good. He is always pushing his students to do better, to punch harder, to kick higher and to be faster. I also enjoy when he talks about Korea and his Taekwondo experience in Korea.
Overtime, our class has gotten progressively harder as my family grows stronger. This helps keep class interesting but also helps me with my personal fitness goals. I urge anyone looking into Martial Arts whether for your kids, yourself, or entire family to visit with Grandmaster Lee, and get your very own Mr. Miyagi!

Provided by YP.comOur family started lessons in February. We have 2 young boys that need some attention and kid-sized goals. He is good with our kids and always very flexible with days and times for our lessons if we have a school function.
Like any kids, ours like to fight with each other. Here they can get it out of their systems with pads on and an instructor helping them do it safely. They learn to defend themselves against each other. The classes have bite-sized goals that our kids can accomplish themselves without the possibility of someone doing it for them. Thus it can be a great confidence boost when they succeed.
You know you're doing good when all he has to say is to kick higher, punch harder, or faster... you can always do better. It is great to see the boys do really well and get excited about it.
Of course, why send your kids, then just sit and watch? It is great exercise for all of us, which is sometimes hard to get regularly as an adult.

Provided by YP.comMr. Howard Lee, instructor and owner is a very dishonest business man. He will place you in a long outrageous contract without your consent or knowledge by adding on terms and conditions to your payment authorization after you sign.
He does not give you a contract or transaction receipts at the time of any transaction. He partners with a billing company called Educational Funding Company. EFC will support Mr. Lee regardless to being aware of his dishonest and fraudulent business practices.
If you decide to do business with Mr. Lee, do not give him payment authorization to charge your credit card, your name or address. He uses that information as proof and acknowledgement to place you in a contract. If you ask him about other information on the payment authorization, he will tell you not to worry about that section. He assigns the contract terms by asking you leading questions after you have signed the payment authorization. Such as, would you like your child to earn a black belt; of course the answer is yes. He will then say we are a black belt school and it will take approximately 3 years with 2 class participations weekly to complete. He will then write 3 years on your payment authorization with out you being aware or acknowledging that you have a desire to be in a binding contract for the term. The payment authorization then turns into a contract and the information he told you not to worry about becomes an issue without you being aware.
As he does not give or even offers you a copy of the contract, you are unaware that you have been placed in a 3 year contract and that you have the right to cancel within 3 days. When time comes for you to withdraw your membership or in my case another parent informed me about his unethical business practices, it will be too late to take action.
Mr. Lee does not care if he did not provide you with a contract, failed to inform as to you being placed in a contract, or if he did not tell you about his cancellation policy. He will simply say you had 3 days to cancel and that the matter is out of his hands. He will then instruct for you to contact EFC and advise that he can no longer cancel your contract. EFC will be of no help, because they work on behalf of Mr. Lee. Do not provide this company with any personal identifying information that they do not all ready have, because the result will not be to your benefit.
Mr. Lee business practice is not only dishonest, but illegal in the state of Texas. Pay an extra $10 or $20 to do business elsewhere. The facility is not the cleanness and Mr. Lee is not one of the most attentive instructors. I do not advise for your kids to be taught the morals and values of Tae Kwon Doe, by a person who represents everything but those characteristics.
