Vets are unqualified to treat your pets and have no compassion in treating them. The would like to put down your pet rather than treat them. WORST ANIMAL HOSPITAL IN FLORIDA.

We have taken our 5 dogs and 2 cats over the last 10 years to Dr Y. He is awesome! Our pets can't speak so sometimes it's difficult to pin point exactly what is going on. Dr Y is always thorough and honest. He gives you options and his opinion if you ask. I moved and still drive 45 minutes to see him. I don't understand the problems others have had but we have really appreciated his honesty, integrity and fair pricing.

I took my cat in because he wasn't eating, they ran every test you can think of on him and said his stomach was hurting him that's why he wasn't eating. Made sense to me, so they gave me liquid food, vitamins and meds along with a appetite enhancer. A 10 day treatment that I had to cram down him, also sold me a big bag of food they guaranteed he would eat after the ten days Well ten days went by and my cat still wasn't eating, I mean nothing I even try to get him to eat Steak and Shrimp and he turn his nose up at it...so I called Southside and told them what was happening and they sounded concerned and the doctor would call me back ,well Im still waiting after calling them again after two days and them telling how sorry they were that nobody called, they turned around and did it again, still no call I wander if they would call me if I reversed the charge of the $550.00 I gave them??? Some body said it right all they seam to care about is your MONEY!!!

My puppy had severe intestinal blockage. We took him to an emergency vet where they recommended Southside because they were "cheaper". So we take him to Southside the next morning, and they ask for 1200 down, possibly 500 more of its severe enough. So wanting to save our puppies life we payed. They said only x-rays, blood work, and fluid would be done that day, and that surgery would be done the next day. They also said they would keep us up to date on everything that happens, so i was absolutely shocked when they called in the middle of surgery (after saying they weren't going to do surgery till the next day) having me make a life or death choice, and saying that we would have to pay another 700 to keep him alive. My father who was with me at the time said yes, since my boyfriend (owner) was not present. We go up there to talk to them about our dog, and to see what we could do about the price, since we already gave them 1200 that morning. All together they wanted a 1000 more, 700 right then and there and 300 when he gets discharged in two weeks, plus medicine. We tried working with them, and tried to figure something out, which the rude vet tech didnt help with at all. We finally figured out a payment plan, after they assured us our puppy was doing great and better than they expected. The next morning, they call us three hours after they open letting us know he passed last night from a minor seizure, and that the vet could not resuscitate him. And still expected us to pay after the fact. Because of this poor service and lack of communication throughout our experience, i would never recommend this vet, nor would i ever take another animal there. I would rate them with no stars if i could, we as animal parents are quite frustrated, and having been to a few other vet offices, i have never dealt with one this money focused and heartless before. Choose a vet who cares about your animal and yourself, before the money.

Waste of money i spent over a grand on my puppy she wasnt eating and she had a a bloody stool they hooked her to an iv and gave her a blood transfusion we called several times to check on her they were rude and gave us the run around they kept her for a week we were told the doctor advised not to give her food when we called to check on her the last day we were told to pick her up shes worse than when she was dropped off she can barely stand shes just skin and bone and nothing has changed with her stool but shes starving shes trying to eat everything but we were told not to because it would mess up her stomache since they starved her before When They told me they would not release her until she was better

I have taken my English Bulldog to Dr. Weirather several times and was happy with the outcome. But I needed surgery to have his tail cropped and was quoted a price for everything included, which the doctor his self quoted me. I scheduled the surgery and the day I dropped him off for the surgery I was told that there would be additional fees once picked up. I was not happy and spoke with the vet his self and he stated that he did not quote me that price and "he was the one that decided the pricing and how long the animals stay". He was calling me a liar. He was the most rudest person I have spoken with that is in a customer service industry. I will never take my animals to this facility ever again and will never recommend someone that does not have any integrity.

Doc Y and his team of techs are very knowledgeable. The price rates are very reasonable. I won't go to anyone else!

This place is amazing! I've take all 4 of my dogs here and always leave happy. Doc Y is extremely knowledgeable and practical. He's been very kind to my dogs but the best with my new frenchie. Its nice to feel that your animal is loved and cared for when you take them to the vet and the techs and Doc Y have made me feel comfortable and make my dogs healthy again. Whenever we leave I am never left with unanswered questions. Doc Y explains clearly whats going on with your pet and the best path for you and your furry family member. I could not say enough good things about Southside Animal Clinic this will be my only vet for as long as they are there. I recommend EVERY person I know with an animal to come here.

"Great Clinic" very modern helpful staff has a groomer and self serve dog wash on location.

Prices are reasonable and Doc "Y" is a very caring vet with years of experience. Must be doing something right he has 3 clinics.
