The Public Works Department is a part of the city government of Plantation in Florida. The department operates through more than five divisions and oversees a staff of over 100 employees. It works on a variety of new construction, remodeling, plumbing, landscaping, stormwater drainage, roadways cleaning and maintenance, and irrigation and weed control projects. The Public Works Department is responsible for painting, carpentry, and electrical and janitorial maintenance work. It also provides solid waste collection and recycling services. In addition, the Public Works Department conducts the recycling of computers, monitors, keyboards, terminals, printers, modems, telephones, cellular phones, television sets and copiers.
