What began as a support group and volunteer organization, The Arc of Southington has evolved into a human-service agency. It provides advocacy, education, information and referral and an array of individualized services and supports to people of all ages with intellectual disabilities and their families. For more than 20 years, the organization has provided residential services. The advocacy agency s Board of Directors is made up of family members, professionals, advocates, self-advocates, business people and interested residents from the areas that it serves. Established in 1954, The Arc of Southington serves Hartford and New Haven counties in Connecticut. The agency is headquartered in Plantsville, Conn.
