I would give Pioneer Property Management no stars if that was an option. I moved into a brand new complex, Avonlea Senior Living in Eureka Mo. Many of the tenants here are very unhappy with the way we are being treated. It is disgusting how mean spirited the management is towards most of the tenants. As a complex for senior citizens, many of whom had hoped to make this their last home, being treated this way is unconscionable and amoral.
Most of my neighbors are afraid to complain, for fear of having their lease not renewed. Due to health and finances they feel they must stay here no matter how they feel about the management. I am one of three tenants who have voiced our concerns, and now are not being allowed to renew our lease. Our only hope is if Phoenix Real Estate Service decides to hire an ethical and principled management company.

I agree with ColleenZ...I am a...

I agree with ColleenZ...I am a resident at a pioneer property. To make a complaint to this company does no good. The manager at the property I live at is exactly what has been discribed by ColleenZ. I have lived at my apartment for over 2 yrs and have enjoyed my apartment and it's location very much. I am disabled and very happy with my apartment but to deal with the manager that comes here Monday through Friday is very unpleasant the implied threat that she runs show and for me to move if I have any disagreements with how she is running the place is very disturbing. Moving is such a hassle for me. Plus I love the apartment and the location. This management has only been here for approx. 6 months. The first thing the manager did was lock our public bathroom up so no one living here could use it not even guests that visit. She wanted a private bathroom for her own use. I complained to upper management about this and she was instructed to unlock it. Soon after that she complained that the toilet paper was being stolen out of it. So it was locked up again.
We have a very slow elevator here and many times while waiting for it we need to use the public bathroom and visiting people need to use it as well. In the past we have been allowed to use the public bathroom so it's a big change not to be allowed to use it. When I complained about this issue I was told that pioneer was not going to furnish toilet paper and that it was being stolen out of the bathroom. Because I complained about the hateful attitude of our manager to upper management the manager here is just more hateful to me and does little things like not give me info that she posts on everyone's door she will not post the info on my door. I recently wrote up a job order because my garbage disposal was not working. She just looked at it shaking her head no and told the maintenance man who was sitting there that if he couldn't get it to work to take it out. I didn't say anything to her and went back to my apartment and looked at it myself because I did not want it removed and I found a button at the bottom of it and pushed it in. It began to work again ( Thank God) then I told the maintenance man I fixed it . After having a pleasant and experienced manager here for over 2 yrs and now this is a big change for me I guess to be treated with respect and dignity is not a requirement for managers here.
Very sad.

Caretaker Rude in Genoa City instead of him talking Civil Mannered he Snaps at Tenants. Apt Complex has went down hill since Herman was let Go. No Parking Signs on Property Paint On pavement has faded. That is not my fault nor isn't anyone else's fault for Parking there when you don't see a sign that says No Parking or Dark Yellow Paint that signifies No Parking.

I am almost 70 years old and am also having a horrible experience with property owned by this company. I am being forced to move for the ACTIONS of a DRUNK UNIVITED PERSON that occurred ON THE OUTSIDE of the building. I personally have nothing to do with this person, but, a relative of mine knows her. This makes no difference to the property owners. I have also been accused of smoking within the unit several times and I have never smoked in the unit. This makes no difference to them either; it is kept on file anyway even without proof. Management at Pioneer headquarters sucks, within the building sucks, and I am happy to be moving. I was also forced to pay for a cable service for two years to the building that I moved into the unit with and was already paying for separately. As of yet, I am still trying to retrieve a reimbursement of the money I paid them for nothing. You can only have a guest stay over 14 times in a year. It is like living in a senior prison. If at all possible avoid this company's property like the plague and live someplace you will be treated with respect and dignity as a senior!!! Pioneer Management really does not care about their seniors and the changes they put them through for the amount of rent that is collected by them - it is really SAD! M. B.

I'm sitting here trying to call their Platteville office as I'm writing this and no one answers the phone. A voice recording doesn't even pick up. It just rings for two minutes then the call gets dumped to a busy tone. So there's that.....

I have had nothing but a good experience with this company. Lu ann the one I usually worked with if I had any issues was always there and was very helpful. I have nothing but good things to say about where I live. The only thing that makes me upset is some of the tenents who are disrespectful by smoking not only in their units but don't go all the way outside to smoke and stand in the hall by the door, I'm sorry but thats just laziness and rude!

I lived at one of their proper...

I lived at one of their properties for almost 3 years, never had a problem at all until the new company took over from Conlin. Once the new manager took over, I was having a family member stay with me for a few days so she could find a place to live. I refuse to have my family live on the street when I can supply even a couch. I was instructed by the manager that she had until the following Tues to be out, and she would be down to my apartment to do a walk thru to make sure she was gone. She also informed me that if I was to have visitors, family or guests for even a few hours I had to get her approval before that could happen. In respect, I was living in a prison with a gatekeeper watching my every move. I could no longer have my grandkids over for the night, I missed family dinners that I cooked and to top it all off, when I would go down to take my garbage out after work (I worked 3rd shift) I would hear her down in the community room or an apartment screaming at one of the elderly folks that lived down there. She made my life absolutely miserable from October 2011 until I could not take not seeing my family or just living in a paid enviroment to sleep and have a roof over my head. THAT IS NOT A HOME. I never caused problems, was a good neighbor and I truly loved my apartment, but that woman did everything in her power to make my life a living hell. I finally took what savings I had and bought a mobile home and moved out. I just could not tolerate her treatment of the elderly/disabled who lived there, it was not all about me. Now that I have moved, I am sure I will never see my deposit from when I moved in. You can be sure I will be telling EVERYONE I know DO NOT MOVE TO this location in Rock Island, you will be treated worse than if you were in a low grade nursing home. I hope the new management is happy that they are running out the good tenants and letting this happen. Also, I found out that the maintanence man had stolen from the apartments and took the elderly folks jewels and other items to the pawn shop. WHAT is happening to the way things are ran these days? Would you like to live like that. I certainly hope the folks I know that live there can find another place to live as I did. Being 60 and not a great income, it wasn't easy for me, but it sure beat being treated like a low grade citizen and being condemned for wanting to have friends and family over. I don't think think this place even deserves a rating but you have to give at least one start.

Not a good company to work for...

Not a good company to work for, the managers they hire are mostly uncertified, and unsupervised. As a cleaning lady for this company, I was in no way treated good by the manager I worked for. Upper management payed this no mind, I was not even allowed to voice my complaints, just let go! If you are a tenant at one of the properties run by them, there is always the implied threat that they run the show, and will get you out at all cost if you buck them! Terrible experience!
