I recently purchased a Boston Whaler jet boat, brokered by Day Brothers, for $4,400. Turns out it had a "blown" engine, never ran, and is essentially worthless except for the trailer. I understand that buying a used boat has risks, but when I asked Day Brothers to at least refund to me the $440 they earned in brokerage commissions they declined. After two weeks of unanswered phone calls and getting the "run around" they finally offered to pay me $200 to buy back the boat and trailer (about $150 less than the value of the trailer). I believe that potential customers should be VERY careful when doing business with Day Brothers and under no circumstances should they consider buying a brokerage boat from them.
