i used Joe Gallo as my accountant for a few years and was extremely disappointed in his services.very unprofessional and rude.he never initially gave me an hourly price list of what he charges, only to be stunned with the bill when it came time to pay.never mentioned id be charged for each 5 minute phone call to ask a question.he cuts corners and does not do things by the book, which caused me to be audited 2 years in a row because of the way he filed my taxes.i then needed him to handle the audit, which he did (and of course i had to pay him again for this), and now 3 years later im learning he messed the audit up as well after getting a bill for $1400 from the state of NY.i contacted him and he was very rude to me, not taking blame for his incompetent work.he does not know the proper tax laws of NY, if he did, he would have done things correctly and i never would have been billed 3 years later by NY state. he refuses to return my phone calls. and when he does call you back, he has an associate of his call you to do his dirty work, who knows nothing about your tax situation. he is spineless and doesn't even have the decency and professionalism to return calls to his own clients.i warn anyone who is thinking of hiring joe gallo to do your taxes, or any work for that matter. i will be reporting him and filing complaints to the NY State Board of Accountancy
