From the first day Dr. Hankison aquired Oakview Veterinary Medical Center to present, the care all my dogs have received has been nothing less then excellent! As far as professionalism, care and treatment, they don't come any better than Dr. Hankison and Dr. Scott! The staff is and has always been courteous, knowledgable and fantastic with my dogs and me! I refer Oakview Veterinary Medical Center to everyone I come across. It's so comforting knowing my dogs are in the best capable hands in Portage County!

They have a great staff, they ...

They have a great staff, they follow-up after appointments, and take great care of our pets. I believe they also care for some of the more than just mammals.

We have a dog with special needs. They treat her like the angel we think she is....... They have squeezed us in for emergencies, provided boarding on short notice, and will perform basic grooming (bathing and nails only). With our deaf & blind Great Dane, that is all she needs and they treat her wonderfully.

In short, you could probably find someplace that will charge you less to give your dog a shot (if that is all you need), but you will not find any place which cares more for your pet than Oakview.

Excellent doctors, caring staff, great hours and even a boarding kennel so my elderly pet can be watched by techs and doctors when I go out of town. A great relief!

Services/Products
Annual Patient Visits: Annual periodic comprehensive wellness exams are recommended for all our patients to make sure they are healthy. Since pets age faster than people, one year in their life is equivalent to several human years. It is important to have your pets examined regularly to check for abnormalities, treat existing problems, and discuss preventative health care. Vaccinations and Vaccine Counseling: At Oakview Veterinary Medical Center, we believe that no two pets are the same. That's why each year you will be asked to fill out a lifestyle questionaire for each of your pets. Using this information, as well as your pets age, breed and medical history, we will help to custom-tailor a vaccine protocol to fit them, along with appropriate vaccine intervals. Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs. Surgical Services: Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures. Anesthesia: Our Doctors utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide that extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all procedures requiring the use of anesthesia. Radiology and Ultrasound Services: Our modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the diagnosis of many disorders. All of our radiographs are also reviewed by a board-certified radiologist to further ensure an accurate and rapid diagnosis. Our hospital also offers ultrasound technology to our patients and clients. Our doctors have undergone extensive training in the use of this exciting diagnostic tool. Electrocardiography Services: ECG services are available at our facility, our doctors will also consult with cardiology specialists and recommend echocardiograms with a board-certified internist when indicated. Specialty Services: Our doctors consult with specialists in cardiology, radiology, ultrasound, orthopedics, internal medicine and exotics from Madison and Appleton to discuss difficult and complex medical cases. Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations. Pharmacy: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. Dentistry: Dr. Hankison has advanced training in dentistry and our office can offer periodontal treatments as well as more routine dental care such as cleaning, polishing, radiographs (x-rays) and extractions. We will review with you the best ways to control fleas and ticks in your house, in your yard and on your pet. Behavioral Counseling: We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.
