Spee-Dee Delivery Service started very small. Donald Weeres was an ambitious 35-year-old farm boy from Richmond, Minn., who wanted to build an overnight delivery service. He founded the company in 1978. Spee-Dee Delivery Service began as an on-call courier service with Weeres using his pickup truck to deliver packages to local businesses. The company has more than 900 pieces of equipment to deliver packages daily and serves Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois. The company has its headquarters in St. Cloud, Minn., and locations throughout the Upper Midwest.
