Dr. Campbell grew up in Madison, Wisconsin, and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He subsequently completed medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. Following this, he moved to the Twin Cities where he completed his residency training in internal medicine at the University of Minnesota and served as a chief resident at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. He stayed at the University of Minnesota for his gastroenterology fellowship, where he participated in multiple research projects on inflammatory bowel disease and served as the chief fellow during his final year of training.
