Established in 1893, the Bannock County Sheriff s Department offers a range of services for the prevention of crime. The department has special response and K-9 units, crime scene investigators, school liaison and resource officers, a police student alliance program and community policing teams. It includes a records department, school resource officers and the chaplain corps. The Bannock County Sheriff s Department s staff members also include police officers, certified jailers, code enforcement officers, crime scene technicians, record room employees, communication operators and dispatchers. It operates a patrol division that participates in safety programs for schools, neighborhood watch and community outreach centers. It includes a detention automatic response team that performs cell extractions and cell searches for hidden contraband and weapons. The Bannock County Sheriff s Department is located in Pocatello, Idaho.
