Great atmosphere, great service

I was very disappointed with my hair and took my braids down the next day. My hair was so poorly done, I was embarrassed to go out in public. I asked for a simple style with cornrows and a bun. She put too few braids with nine braids across the front and about 19 total braids. This took about 2 hours and felt like more braids. When she finished I looked in the mirror in disgust. I absolutely didn’t know how to react. I paid her and left the shop. After sitting in my car in shock, I went back and made an appointment to redo my hair. After getting home, I decided to cut my losses and not go back for a redo. I’ve been wearing braids off and on for 20 years and I’ve never experienced such poor work. Not everyone is skilled at braiding but you can often make it work. This person does not have the basic skills to braid. My hair looked like you can drive a car between each braid because the parts were so huge. It looked like a child’s hairstyle. I will be going somewhere else to get my hair braided. Please do your homework and go somewhere else.

Nicole is an excellent braid expert. She was very courteous and she was very meticulous with the work she was performing. the braid job came out beautiful and I have gotten so many compliments and it is my pleasure to recommend her store and her work to all my friends, family and acquaintances.

Please do not go to Golden Locks! I went to get my hair in kinky twist while the owner was nice and pleasant she is very sneaky. First she started my hair until her two other young loud girls came in. She told me they were going to help her but then she said I have to go to the store. The two young ladies continued to do my hair. While doing my hair I was turn away from the mirror once they finish my hair it looked like a 3 yr old had did my hair. I would have not paid for my hair but the owner collected her $200 before she started and she still had not returned from the store. So I left went home very upset. At home I put the hair up in a ponytail and 7 twist come out. I call the owner to tell her she told me to come back tomorrow and she will fix my hair. After calling the owner for the entire day she called me back at 7:30 pm saying to come to come to her shop. I got there in 10 min once I arrived has me to sit and waiting on her for 30 min then asked the same girl that played in my hair the day before to fix it. I told her that all of the twist are falling out and my hair needs to be completely redone after joking with the other young lady she still didn't want to fix my hair.... I will never use her again and I will tell everyone my story!

The first time I went, I was impressed and I loved my hair. Every time after that, it seemed as if I got a trainee or new hire doing my hair and the owner was experimenting or teaching that person on my time, money, and hair. The prices are affordable, but more often than not I ended up paying for something that I didn't ask for.
