Megan N. Scott Carlton, MD received her bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas with honors in Biochemistry. She earned her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine and completed her specialty and surgical training at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Scott is Board Certified and practices comprehensive ophthalmology, providing eye glasses, contact lens, medical eye examinations, dry eye and lid margin disease, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, and uveitis. She provides the latest technology in cataract surgery options including traditional and laser-assisted cataract surgery, standard and specialty intraocular lens implants, and minimally invasive glaucoma implants. Dr. Scott has presented and published several scientific articles and abstracts. She is a member of the American Board of Ophthalmology, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, among others. She is actively serving as a board member for the Florida Society of Ophthalmology, Vision is Priceless nonprofit, and is the current Chief of Ophthalmology for St. Vincent’s Healthcare. Dr. Scott is passionate about the patient relationship. She strives to achieve an interactive dynamic and is dedicated to providing top-notch medical and surgical care under the terms and circumstances that best suit each individual. Outside of her practice, Dr. Scott is actively involved in community volunteer work through multiple charities and strongly advocates for patients at all levels of care. She enjoys spending time with her husband and dog, riding bicycles, hiking, gardening, and live music.
