If you need a place where the pastor can tell you what the Bible says without apology, yet he is a caring and concerned, and humble man of God, this is your church. I came to Pooler First last Christmas. I was a mess, broken and in need of much spiritual help. I am not one to go up to a stranger even if it is a pastor and bother him with my problems. Yes, I am a very open person, but I find it hard to ask for anything from another person even if it is guidance. Bro. Otis talked to me one Wednesday night and just sensed there was a problem. He called me that Friday night and prayed with me. He is very non envasive, just wanted to know if I needed him to please call and set up an appointment for counseling. He is the most caring pastor I know, and I have had many.



As for the church, they just loved me into the midst of them. I am pretty outgoing (talking wise especially) and even though I try to shut up, I have a provlem not sharing my opinion. My Sunday School class listened, and maybe they agreed or thought I was "nuts", but they loved me all the same. From the moment I walked into the church I sensed the presence of the Holy Spirit and began to fill the conviction I needed to get right with my Heavely Father.



A year later, I still am a mess but not nearly as I was. Now I have a church family to help me grow in the Love of Jesus. I have had other church families ,and I still have friends at each church I have gone to. I still have those friend, and am now making new friends and I feel I am right where God wants me.
