Best Kept Secret Best Hotel RAH

This is not your typical Hotel. This is a treasure trove of antiques and history. Each room is decorated in its own uniqe style. It begs you stay and relax. BE WARNED YOU WONT WANT TO LEAVE - But thats a good thing.

You have a wonderful two story balcony to sit on and watch the night life as well as the ships coming into port at Corpus Christi.

This is the place where you find peace and solitude. The walls are thick. The beds are a dream come true.

If you stay in Port Aransas and you stay anywhere else but the Tarpon Inn you are depriviing yourself of an historical treasure.

Mind you there are NO PHONES and NO TELEVISIONS But that is what this place is all about. Peace, Relaxation, and Well-Being.

I have watched the staff closely they are always cheerful, always accomadating when they can be, (reservations are your best bet and they will work with you), I should be telling you this because I like to stay at this hotel.

So when you need a place to recharge your Delco Battery and get away from it all the Tarpon Inn is your best bet in Port Aransas or the entire Coastal Bend.

You should also make it a point to visit the lobby. It has scales from Tarpon that are enscribed by who caught the fish, the weight of the fish and the date. It his pictures that date back to when Moses dug the canal to Corpus Christi.

President F.D.R. stayed at this hotel in 1937. It has survived hurricanes and the like and it is still standing tall and pretty. Waiting to make you comfortable.

I say this because every hotel that I have stayed in with the exception of the Menger Hotel in San Antonio looks like something from a mobile home. And if you want the same style and quality as you would get at the Menger you have to ask to stay in the "Historic Antique Section Of The Hotel" and that section of the hotel is very expensive. Plus you have to fight downtown San Antonio trafffic and pay a daily parking fee of at least 30$.

Why stay there when you have the same without the hustle and bustle of the San Antonio headache.

Plus at the Tarpon Inn you have everthing at your fingertips. Fine food the beaches, fishing and more.

But for me I like to go there and just relax and go back in time when things were simplier and much more peaceful.

And an added treat the people are very nice. They knew exactly who to send me to when my tire was going flat.

Sure saved my day.

Good People All The Way Around

Sincerely - RAH
