Dr. Pandya treated me for shortness of breath. He told me that I had a neuromuscular problem and to see a neurologist. A while later, I had a major attack and went to see him along with my wife. He jumped me for coming to him and made an appointment for me in one year. He did order a blood gas test. That was a long time ago. His receptionist called the other day to confirm my upcoming appointment. Upcoming appointment? It hasn't been a year and they didn't even call me before to see when I could come. And the test was taken so long ago that I can't remember when it was done. I said that I wasn't coming and they called back later. We made the point much clearer. I am not speaking of this occurrence in particular but do people with mental illnesses get treated differently? I think so.
