Dr. Meka chose a career in gastroenterology as he enjoys both the clinical and procedural aspects of that medical discipline and because it allowed him the opportunity to study pathology involving various organs. He always looks forward to the opportunity to interact with and help his patients, whether he is meeting with the patient in the clinic or performing a procedure in the endoscopy suite.Dr. Meka believes that his parents are his most important influence as they showed him that hard work and perseverance pay off. He is also thankful to the numerous physicians who not only taught him about medicine, but also the importance of a strong patient-doctor relationship.In his free time, Dr. Meka enjoys going for a run, playing basketball and traveling with his wife and son. He also enjoys volunteering in high school educational activities for students involved in medicine.I believe patient empowerment and evidence-based medicine are essential when formulating a diagnostic or treatment plan. I look forward to connecting with patients from this community and delivering individualized care.
