St. Michael Lutheran Church is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod. Services are Saturdays at 5pm and Sundays at 8:30am (traditional) and 11am (contemporary). St. Michael Lutheran School is a learning center that provides academic instruction to students in pre-kindergarten through grade six. It provides developmental and systematic programs that promote the spiritual, intellectual, physical and social development of students. St. Michael Lutheran School has a cafeteria, gymnasium and computer lab. It offers after-school programs to assist families. The school's academic curriculum includes reading, writing, math, science, history, Spanish, physical education and social studies. St. Michael Lutheran School provides various extracurricular activities, such as music, art, choir and field trips. It has a library and media center that houses a variety of storybooks, quiz books, biographies, picture dictionaries, encyclopedias and puzzles. The school is a ministry of St. Michael Lutheran Church and is located in Portage, Mich.
